Owners and Contractors Protective Liability (also known as OCP or OCPL policy) covers the interest of the owner of a property for the duration of a project. Thus, it’s sometimes also simply called “project insurance”. The coverage can also be purchased by a general contractor to cover them for the duration of the project from acts of their subcontractors.

An OCP policy provides limits specific to the owner of the property that are not shared, and the OCP also covers the owner for their own acts in the supervision of the project.

This is an extremely specialized coverage and the available options, endorsements and exclusions can be overwhelming.

If you have an account that needs project insurance, give us a call to discuss it. Chances are we’ll have a carrier that is a good fit for your client and we can help you craft a comprehensive program.
